Speed Metal is a subset of Destructo Trucks. The best thing going for Speed Metal bearings is 1) the name 2) Bam Margera and 3) Mike Vallely.

Speed Metal bearings come in Abec 3, Abec 5 and Abec 7 speed ratngs. The Speed Metal Abec 7 line comes in two professional skateboarder signature series. They are: Speed Metal Abec 7 Bam Margera Wrecking Balls. Wrecking Balls come in a pink and black heartagram designed bearing tin. The second set are the Speed Metal Mike Vallely Abec 7 Lightnings. The Mike Valley Lightnings were released in either 2001 or 2002, where the Bam Margera Wrecking Balls were released more recently.

In 2003 Speed Metal bearings was researching a new skateboard bearing technology. Skaterboarders at the Vans skate park in Orange, CA witnesses a very strange bearing design by some Speed Metal team riders. Word has it that the bearings were completely encased in a sheet metal cover with one spinning axis in the middle of the bearing. According to these reports for local skateboarders, the bearings looked like UFO/alien technology! Whatever those bearings were, nothing Speed Metal has ever distributed on the open market has ever looked like such a bearing.

Now since i seem to be on a down slope, the Speed Metal "Mike V A7's" - can i say "s#!t"? well basically nuff said. they look to have the quality of a mid BONES Bearing -but- only maintain a mid level speed for an A7. now dont get me wrong, its a very smooth mid speed, but thats about all your gonna get. their almost exactly like riding the "Black Widows". Overall - didn't even work well in my long board.
